Triggered by Motion – A Heart for Penguins
The Oamaru Blue Penguin Colony has harbored a colony of blue penguins since 1992. They settled in a former quarry in the 1970s and now number between 500 and 600 animals. Research is being conducted into their breeding behavior, as well as the influence of environmental and other external factors on the penguins, which each measure just 30 cm in height.
